Living with Purpose

Many men are busy but not purposeful. They're doing things, accomplishing tasks, but couldn't tell you why. They've never stopped to ask the deeper questions: What am I here for? What should my life be about? Where am I headed? Without answers to these questions, you default to whatever's in front of you. Urgent crowds out important. You build someone else's dream instead of pursuing your own calling.

Purpose provides a filter for decisions, fuel for perseverance, and meaning for sacrifice. It turns random motion into directed momentum.

Signs You Lack Purpose

• Feeling like you're just going through the motions
• Difficulty making decisions because you have no clear filter
• Saying yes to everything because you don't know what to say no to
• Envy of others who seem to know what they're doing
• Existential restlessness even when life is "fine"

Purpose isn't found by thinking harder. It's discovered through action, reflection, and listening. It emerges at the intersection of what you're good at, what the world needs, and what you care deeply about.

Finding Your Purpose

Look at your gifts: What are you naturally good at? What comes easy to you that's hard for others?

Notice your passion: What makes you come alive? What problems bother you enough to want to solve them?

See the need: Where does the world need what you have to offer?

Listen for calling: What has God put in your heart? What keeps coming back no matter how you try to ignore it?

Living from Purpose

Once you have clarity, purpose becomes a filter. Does this opportunity align with my purpose? Does this decision move me toward or away from why I'm here? Purpose doesn't make decisions easy, but it makes them clearer.

Your Action Steps

This week: Write down what you think your purpose might be. Even a rough draft.

This month: Talk to people who know you well. Ask what they see in you.

This quarter: Make one significant decision using purpose as the filter.
